For the honeymoon, we’re going to Ireland and Scotland. So, for all those that know me, they know that: 1. I LOVE to travel & 2. I LOVE to plan vacations! so I’m really in my element here.
Now, we’ve been to Ireland back in 2006 – so I know exactely where we want to go (and where we don’t). I have that pretty much mapped out. We just need to finalize details on hotels & rental cars.
Here is the rough itinerary for the Ireland leg of the trip:
10/12: Fly into Shannon, drive 2 Galway, burren, galway bay sunset, stay in Galway
10/13: visit aran islands, bike tour! Go back to galway & spend the night
10/14: first stop: croagh Patrick (hike up to the top!), then drive out to achill island. Stay the night in Donegal
10/15: hike around glenveagh national park, slieve league (cliffs) stay in Donegal at croaghross (p. 377 in Ireland 4 dummies)
10/16: drive up to the causeway coast. Stay up in Ballycastle.
10/17: causeway coast, make our way to Belfast. Spend the night
10/18: spend the day in Belfast, spend the night
10/19: ferry to Stranraer Scotland
Now, for the Scotland portion of the trip, I know a few things: 1. We’re starting out in Stranraer, 2. I want to concentrate our time in the beautiful highlands 3. We have to end up in Edinburgh & I’d like to spend a day or two there. Also, Jon mentioned that he wants to go see Loch Ness. Any suggestions on awesome things to do in Scotland is welcomed!

The picture is one that I took back in 2006 when we were there - its Dusk in Cork.
